# SIWX wallet auth, step 1 — get the message to sign

`GET /api/auth/nonce`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://coil.trade`
- URL: `https://coil.trade/api/auth/nonce`
- Auth: none required

Sign In With X (CAIP-122): returns the exact message the wallet must sign, with a stateless server-bound nonce. Free, no payment. Chains: base (any EVM signer), solana, algorand.

## Query parameters

- `address` string, required
- `chain` 'base' | 'evm' | 'solana' | 'algorand'

## Response `200`

The message to sign, its nonce, and issued_at (10-minute window).
