# Create project type

`POST /project-types`

## Request

Create a new project type.

Project type names must be unique within the organization
(case-insensitive).

## Request body

- ProjectTypeCreateV1: Create project-type request.
  - `name` string, required: Unique within the org (case-insensitive).
  - `color` string, nullable: Optional hex color for UI display, e.g. '#3B82F6'.

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- ProjectTypeV1: Project-type response.
  - `id` string, required
  - `name` string, required
  - `color` string, nullable, required
  - `projects_count` integer, required
  - `created_at` string, date-time, nullable, required
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, nullable, required: Null if never updated.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `409`: Conflict
- `422`: Validation error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal server error
