# Delete server

`DELETE /servers/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cloudpepper.io`
- URL: `https://api.cloudpepper.io/servers/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Permanently deletes a server from your account. When deleting a server normally, the system will initiate a clean deletion process that removes all associated resources. If the `force` parameter is used, the system will directly remove the server from the database without attempting to clean up resources, which is useful when a server is no longer reachable but still appears in your account.

**Key Parameters:**
- `id`: The unique identifier of the server to delete
- `force`: Optional boolean flag to force deletion even if the server is not reachable

**NOTE:** This is a permanent operation and cannot be undone. All instances on the server will be deleted as well. Use the force parameter with caution, as it bypasses normal cleanup procedures and may leave orphaned resources.

## Query parameters

- `force` boolean

## Response `204`

Server deleted successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request - force parameter used but last heartbeat not available
- `404`: Server not found
