# Update Odoo instance

`POST /instances/{id}/update`

## Request

Updates the specified Odoo instance with a new commit. This endpoint allows you to update your Odoo instance to a specific version or commit, useful for applying security patches, bug fixes, or new features. The instance status will be set to 'modifying' during the update process.

**Key Parameters:**
- `id`: The unique identifier of the instance you want to update
- `commit_sha`: The Git commit SHA representing the version you want to update to

## Response `200`

Instance update initiated successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input data
- `404`: Instance not found
