# Update module properties

`PATCH /instances/{id}/modules/{moduleId}`

## Request

Updates specific properties of an installed module. This endpoint allows changing settings such as auto-upgrade preferences or automatic installation of Python requirements without reinstalling the module. Changes are applied to the module configuration immediately.

**Key Parameters:**
- `id`: The ID of the instance containing the module
- `moduleId`: The ID of the module to update
- `auto_upgrade`: Boolean flag to enable/disable automatic upgrades for this module
- `autoRequirements`: Boolean flag to enable/disable automatic installation of Python requirements (`requirements.txt`) when the module is installed or updated. Requires the instance to be configured with an Odoo virtualenv; otherwise the flag is stored but has no effect.

  - `auto_upgrade` boolean: Enable or disable automatic upgrades for this module
  - `autoRequirements` boolean: Enable or disable automatic installation of Python requirements (`requirements.txt`) on module install/update. When enabled, the API runs `pip install -r requirements.txt` inside the instance's Odoo virtualenv after fetching the module sources. Has no effect if the instance does not have an Odoo virtualenv configured.
