# Update billing details

`PATCH /billing-details`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cloudpepper.io`
- URL: `https://api.cloudpepper.io/billing-details`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Update your Account's billing details. These values appear on your invoices and are used for VAT validation and tax calculation, so only valid entries are saved unrecognized input is rejected with an error rather than applied silently.

This is a partial update: fields you omit are left unchanged; send an empty string to clear a field.

**Key Parameters:**
- `name`: Your company or billing name (required).
- `vat`: VAT / tax identification number. Providing one marks you as a company; leaving it empty keeps your current company status. An invalid number is rejected.
- `country`: ISO country code (e.g. 'BE', 'US'). An unrecognized code is rejected; send an empty string to clear it.
- `street`, `street2`, `city`, `zip`: Your billing address.
- `email`: The address your invoices are sent to.

Requires Account administrator privileges.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request: missing company name, unrecognized country code, invalid VAT number, or billing has not been set up for your Account yet
- `403`: Insufficient permissions (requires Account administrator privileges)
