# Set a backup provider as default

`POST /backup-providers/{id}/set-default`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cloudpepper.io`
- URL: `https://api.cloudpepper.io/backup-providers/{id}/set-default`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Sets the specified backup provider as the default for the tenant. The default provider will be used for automatic backups and other backup-related operations when no specific provider is selected. Only one provider can be set as default at a time.

**Key Parameters:**
- `id`: The unique identifier of the backup provider to set as default

**NOTE:** Setting a new default provider will automatically unset any previously default provider. This action takes effect immediately for all future backup operations.

## Response `200`

Default backup provider successfully set

## Other responses

- `403`: Insufficient permissions
- `404`: Backup provider not found
