# Enable or disable plugin

`PUT /plugins`

Enables or disables a RabbitMQ plugin depending on the `enabled` field.
When `async=true` the operation returns immediately with a `job_id`. Track progress using the Jobs API.

## Query parameters

- `async` boolean

## Response `202`

Plugin update started asynchronously

- JobIdResponse
  - `job_id` string, uuid — Job ID to track the asynchronous operation
