# People Withdraw

`POST /people/{person_id}/withdraw`

Withdraw one owned person, or report its existing legal state while dark. Requires the explicitly minted `bernayser:write` scope. This legal-state operation is quota-neutral and remains available while the BERNAYSER product is dark; it performs no discovery or rendering. An unknown person returns not_found, and a valid key without the required scope receives scope_missing. Repeating an active withdrawal reports its current state. For service_unavailable, wait for retry_after_sec and retry once.
