# Record a new external (out-of-band) medication request on a patient. Tracking only — this never touches inventory or the Rx governance workflow.

`POST /Patients/{id}/external-medications`

- CreateOutsideMedicationDto: Payload for recording a new external medication request on a patient.

  - `status` string, nullable: One of: Requested, Filled, Cancelled. Defaults to Requested.
  - `kind` string, nullable: One of: Medication, Diet. Defaults to Medication.

- OutsideMedicationDto: Patient-facing view of an out-of-band external medication request (tracking only — no inventory or Rx governance involvement).
