# Unpublish a note

`DELETE /notes/{noteId}/publish`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Takes a published note off the public web.

## Path parameters

- `noteId` string, required

## Response `200`

The note is no longer published.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is invalid. `error` says which field is missing or wrong.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `500`: Unexpected server error. Safe to retry once.
