# Create Assistant

`POST /api/assistants/`

Create a new assistant.

## Request body

- AssistantWithConfigCreate — Assistant create model with config -- used for creating a new assistant with config.
  - `model` 'gpt-4o'
  - `instructions` string, nullable
  - `knowledge_base_id` string, uuid, nullable, required
  - `context_limit` integer, nullable — The maximum number of context chunks to include in a run.
  - `codex_access_key` string, nullable
  - `hard_coded_queries` HardCodedQuery[], nullable
    - `query` string, required
    - `response` string, required
    - `context` string[], nullable
    - `prompt` string, nullable
    - `messages` object[], nullable
  - `codex_as_cache` boolean
  - `name` string, required — The name of the assistant
  - `description` string, required — The description of the assistant
  - `url_slug` string, nullable — Optional URL suffix - unique identifier for the assistant's endpoint
  - `suggested_questions` string[] — A list of suggested questions that can be asked to the assistant
  - `logo_s3_key` string, nullable — S3 object key to the assistant's logo image
  - `logo_text` string, nullable — Text to display alongside the assistant's logo
