# Promote Item To Asset

Admin-only: promote an expenditure transaction into a depreciating asset.

Seeds a new ``AURDDepreciatingAsset`` (source "transaction", linked by
``source_item_id``) from the item, and flags the item ``promoted_to_asset_at``
so it drops out of the expenses list/totals — the spend is now claimed as
depreciation, not as an immediate expense. Reverse by deleting the asset.

## Request body

- PromoteToAssetPayload: Payload for "Mark as depreciating asset" — promote an expenditure item into a linked depreciating asset. ``effective_life_years`` / ``method`` are the two inputs a transaction can't supply; the rest default to the item's values but may be overridden in the dialog. ``method`` is validated in the handler so it returns a clean 400.
