# Set Item Apportionments

`PUT /claims/{claim_id}/expenditures/items/{item_id}/apportionments`

Replace the full R&D-activity apportionment for one item.

Each entry's ``percentage`` is that activity's R&D portion of the item; the
list may sum to <= 100 (any remainder is non-R&D). An empty list clears the
apportionment, sending the item back to the Ungrouped / non-R&D bucket. The
item's cached ``rd_percentage`` / ``eligibility`` / ``activity_id`` are kept
in sync. Salary rows use the dedicated Salary-tab editor, not this
mixed-item endpoint.
