# Create a usage export

`POST /organizations/{org_id}/usage_export_job`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://circleci.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://circleci.com/api/v2/organizations/{org_id}/usage_export_job`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `Circle-Token`
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in query parameter `circle-token`

Submits a request to create a usage export for an organization.

## Request body

- object
  - `start` string, date-time, required: The start date & time (inclusive) of the range from which data will be pulled. Must be no more than one year ago.
  - `end` string, date-time, required: The end date & time (inclusive) of the range from which data will be pulled. Must be no more than 31 days after `start`.
  - `shared_org_ids` string[]

## Response `201`

Usage export created successfully

- UsageExportJob
  - `usage_export_job_id` string, uuid, required
  - `state` 'created' | 'processing' | 'failed' | 'completed', required
  - `start` string, date-time, required
  - `end` string, date-time, required
  - `download_urls` string[], required: A list of pre signed urls that the client can use to download the results of a Usage Export.

## Other responses

- `400`: Unexpected request body provided.
- `401`: Credentials provided are invalid.
- `404`: Entity not found.
- `429`: API rate limits exceeded.
- `500`: Internal server error.
