# Delete a group

`DELETE /organizations/{org_id}/groups/{group_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://circleci.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://circleci.com/api/v2/organizations/{org_id}/groups/{group_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `Circle-Token`
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in query parameter `circle-token`

Delete a group in an organization. This will remove all members from the group as well, and the subsequent role grants tied to the group. Currently only supported for standalone organizations.

## Response `200`

Successful deletion of a group.

## Other responses

- `401`: Credentials provided are invalid.
- `403`: None or insufficient credentials provided.
- `404`: Entity not found.
- `500`: Internal server error.
