# Get a job

`GET /jobs/{job_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://circleci.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://circleci.com/api/v2/jobs/{job_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `Circle-Token`
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in query parameter `circle-token`

Gets a job's metadata by its unique ID, including its name, job number, type, status, and associated resource IDs.

  - `job_number` integer: The number of the job.
  - `type` string: The type of the job.
  - `status` string, required
  - `project_id` string, uuid, required
  - `pipeline_id` string, uuid, required
  - `workflow_id` string, uuid, required
  - `started_at` string, date-time
  - `stopped_at` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `400`: Unexpected request body provided.
- `401`: Credentials provided are invalid.
- `404`: Entity not found.
- `429`: API rate limits exceeded.
- `500`: Internal server error.
