# Create an agent-scoped API key

`POST /v1/keys`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.chronary.ai`
- URL: `https://api.chronary.ai/v1/keys`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates a new `chr_ak_*` key scoped to a single agent. Only org-level API keys may call this endpoint. **Requires Pro plan.**

  - `agent_id` string, required
  - `label` string

## Response `201`

Scoped API key created

  - `id` string, required
  - `key_prefix` string, required
  - `agent_id` string, required
  - `label` string, nullable, required
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required
  - `key` string, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized — missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Plan upgrade required — feature is not available on the current plan
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limited — 10 requests per second per key exceeded
- `500`: Internal server error
