# Start an account claim

`POST /v1/auth/claim/initiate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.chronary.ai`
- URL: `https://api.chronary.ai/v1/auth/claim/initiate`
- Auth: API key in cookie `chronary_session`

Initiates a claim of an agent-created Chronary account. Requires console JWT auth. Returns the same opaque shape regardless of whether the target email maps to a claimable account — by design, to prevent enumeration. Sends a 6-digit OTP to the target inbox; pair with `POST /v1/auth/claim/verify` within 10 minutes.

  - `agent_org_email` string, email, required

## Response `200`

Opaque success

- ClaimInitiateResponse
  - `claim_id` string, uuid, required
  - `message` string, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error — invalid request body or query parameters
- `401`: Missing or invalid console session — these endpoints require a console JWT, not an API key.
- `429`: Rate limited — 10 requests per second per key exceeded
- `500`: Internal server error
