# Get an employee tax document

`GET /documents/employee_tax_documents/{document}`

Returns an employee tax document, including `created_at` (ISO 8601 UTC timestamp of when the document was recorded).

  - `id` string: Unique identifier for the document.
  - `employee` string: ID of the employee that this document was filed for.
  - `category` string: The categorization of the document. Always `employee_tax_document` for this document type.
  - `document_type` string: Machine-readable document type identifier. See [Document types](ref:document-types) for the full list.
  - `label` string: Human-readable name of the document type.
  - `jurisdiction` string, nullable: Jurisdiction associated with this document: a two-character state abbreviation, or "FED" for the federal jurisdiction; `null` if no jurisdiction is set.
  - `year` integer: Year that this document was filed for.
  - `filed_on` string, date: Date that this document was filed.
  - `created_at` string, date-time: ISO 8601 UTC timestamp when the document was recorded in Check.
