# Delete a check-in

`DELETE /api/v1/staff_check_ins/{id}`

Permanently deletes a recorded shift and its notes and photos. Requires `own_staff_check_in_write` for your own shift, or `all_staff_check_in_write` for anyone's -- both admin-only by default.

To close a shift a staffer forgot to check out of, correct it with `PATCH` instead of deleting it.
