# Automation triggered

`POST automation.triggered` (webhook)

Incoming webhook deliveries are authenticated with HMAC signature headers (`X-Chatway-Signature` and `X-Chatway-Timestamp`), not your Chatway API key.

An automation rule was executed.

Use automation.triggered to record which rule ran for a conversation or to report on rule activity. Group records by `data.automation.id`; use `data.automation.name` as the display label and data.automation.trigger_type for the trigger description. If your workflow depends on a specific change, subscribe to its event, such as [Agent assigned](https://developers.chatway.app/webhooks/webhook.agent_assigned), [Tag assigned](https://developers.chatway.app/webhooks/webhook.tag_assigned), or [Conversation resolved](https://developers.chatway.app/webhooks/webhook.conversation_resolved). Choose rule activity or the resulting change according to what your integration needs to record.

For signature verification and retries, see [Webhooks overview](https://developers.chatway.app/webhooks/guides.webhooks_overview).

Return any 2xx status to acknowledge receipt.

## Other responses

- `410`: Optional HTTP 410 Gone to signal the endpoint is permanently unavailable. Like every non-2xx response below 500 (including `408` and `429`), it is not retried. It does not disable the subscription; turn the webhook off in Chatway Settings if you want deliveries to stop.
