# Download an inbound attachment

`GET /v1/messages/{id}/media`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.chatrail.dev`
- URL: `https://www.chatrail.dev/v1/messages/{id}/media`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Streams the file from the transport through ChatRail. Inbound only: an outbound attachment's URL is one the caller supplied and already has. The response carries the stored content type, never the transport's, and is always served as an attachment. Answers 404 when the message has no attachment, when the transport reported a file it does not serve, or when it no longer holds it.

## Response `200`

The file.

## Other responses

- `404`: No downloadable media on this message.
- `503`: This deployment cannot retrieve media from the transport.
