# Show typing in a chat

`POST /v1/connections/{connection}/presence`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.chatrail.dev`
- URL: `https://www.chatrail.dev/v1/connections/{connection}/presence`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Shows "typing…" or "recording…" to a person or group, or stops (`paused`). WhatsApp clears it by itself after a short while or when a message arrives. Nothing is stored.

## Other responses

- `404`: No such connection.
- `409`: The connection is not ready.
