# Create a File Link

`GET /v1/files/{id}/link`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sandboxapi.givechariot.com`
- URL: `https://sandboxapi.givechariot.com/v1/files/{id}/link`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates an unauthenticated temporary URL to download the file's contents. Note
that this link expires and therefore should not be cached.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

The file link

- FileLink: A file link is a temporary URL that downloads a file's bytes without a Chariot credential. It expires an hour after it is issued.
  - `url` string: The URL to download the file. It needs no Chariot credential.
  - `expires_at` string, date-time: The date and time when the file link will expire.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is invalid or contains invalid parameters
- `401`: Unauthorized. The request is missing the security (OAuth2 Bearer token) requirements and the server is unable to verify the identify of the caller.
- `403`: Access denied
- `404`: Resource Not Found
- `500`: Internal Server Error
