# Read one of your memories from the chain and check it against your record

`GET /v1/memory/{id}/decrypted`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.chainmemory.ai`
- URL: `https://api.chainmemory.ai/v1/memory/{id}/decrypted`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Takes your `memory_number`. Reads the ciphertext stored on-chain, decrypts it with the key derived from your API key and checks two things: that the text matches the on-chain hash, and (since 2026-09-14) that the on-chain hash matches the `event_hash` of your record (`matches_record`). `integrity_verified` is true only when both hold. A sealed memory is returned as its encrypted blob, never as text: decrypt it on the client.

## Path parameters

- `id` integer, required

## Response `200`

Decrypted memory, or the blob of a sealed one

## Other responses

- `403`: caller not registered on chain
- `404`: memory not found
- `409`: memory not yet anchored on-chain (wait ~30 s after writing)
