# Lookup Direktvermarkter (direct energy marketer) in MaStR

Identifies a direct energy marketer (Direktvermarkter) in the MaStR registry and returns portfolio metadata.

**Use Cases**:
- Identify the MaStR ID of a direct marketer for downstream portfolio queries
- Get portfolio size (number of installations) and total installed capacity
- First step of the Direktvermarkter pipeline before fetching all installations

**Direktvermarkter Pipeline**:
1. `grid-operations.direktvermarkterLookup` (this step) → resolves name/ID → MaStR ID + portfolio stats
2. `assets.byDirektvermarkter` → fetches all installations in the Direktvermarkter's portfolio

**Known Direktvermarkter examples**: NextKraftwerke, Statkraft, BayWa r.e., EnBW Trading, Encavis

⚠️ **Data Availability Limitation**: `DirektvermarkterMastrNummer` is deliberately excluded from all public MaStR bulk exports (BNetzA policy — commercially sensitive data). The portfolio stats returned by `cernion_direktvermarkter_lookup` are derived from `MarktakteureUndRollen.xml` (actor-level data) and may be incomplete or stale. Cross-referencing to individual installation units by DV company is **not possible** through any public source. The `assets.byDirektvermarkter` step will return 0 results in practice because the `direktvermarkterMastrNummer` field is not populated in the local MongoDB. Use `fernsteuerbarkeitDv: true` + `minCapacity: 100` via `energy-market.installations` as the best available public proxy (Wind/Biomass only).

  - `onlyActive` boolean: Restrict portfolio stats to active direct marketing contracts
  - `limit` integer: Maximum number of matches returned (default: 10, max: 100)
  - `token` string: Optional Cernion MCP token for this request. Overrides CERNION_TOKEN when provided.
