# Create a Snapshot — seal a consistent set of Datapoints

`POST /api/datapoints/snapshot`

Refreshes all specified datapoints (sequentially) if their cached data is older than `maxAgeMinutes`, then seals the consistent state as a snapshot document in PouchDB. The snapshot records each datapoint`s `provenanceHash` and a combined `snapshotHash` (SHA-256 over sorted individual hashes). Accepts either `datapointNames` (array) or `tags` (comma-separated string). Raw data is NOT stored (KRITIS constraint).

  - `maxAgeMinutes` number: Maximum age of a datapoint before a refresh is triggered.

  - `token` string: Optional Cernion MCP token for this request. Overrides CERNION_TOKEN when provided.
