# Invite user to organization

`POST /v3/accounts/organizations/{organization_id}/invitations`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.platform.censys.io`
- URL: `https://api.platform.censys.io/v3/accounts/organizations/{organization_id}/invitations`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Invite a user to an organization. The user will receive an email to join the organization. This is equivalent to [adding a new user via the UI](https://docs.censys.com/docs/platform-org-management#invite-members).<br><br>Only users with the Platform Admin role in the provided organization can perform this operation.<br><br>This endpoint does not cost any credits to execute.

## Path parameters

- `organization_id` string, uuid, required: The ID of a Censys organization. See the [Getting Started docs](https://docs.censys.com/reference/get-started#step-3-find-and-use-your-organization-id-optional) for more information.

## Request body

- InviteMemberInputBody
  - `email` string, email, required: Email of the user

## Response `201`

Invitation sent successfully

## Other responses

- `401`: Request does not contain a valid Authorization token
- `403`: User does not have permission or organization has reached maximum seat capacity
- `404`: Organization not found
- `409`: User is already in this organization or an invitation already exists
- `422`: Invalid email address
- `500`: Internal server error
