# Ask about failed runs

`POST /test_framework/v3/results/{id}/ask_about_failures/`

Ask a question about a result's failed runs and return an evidence-grounded answer together with the runs it cites.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- AskAboutFailuresV3Request
  - `question` string, required: Question about the result's failed runs, in plain language.

## Response `200`

- object
  - `status` 'completed' | 'failed': `failed` when the job could not produce its result; see `error` / `errors`.
  - `answer` string, nullable: The answer to the question.
  - `cited_run_ids` integer[]: Runs the answer cites as evidence.
  - `error` string, nullable: Why the job failed, when it did.

## Other responses

- `400`
- `403`: No access to the agent, project, metric or result the job runs on.
- `404`: Result not found.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
- `504`: The job did not finish within 15 minutes. It may still complete in the background.
