# Summarize alert

`POST /observability/v3/alerts/{id}/summarize/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cekura.ai`
- URL: `https://api.cekura.ai/observability/v3/alerts/{id}/summarize/`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-CEKURA-API-KEY`
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

Summarize what the alert's fires over the last `hours` have in common and return the summary. Returns 400 when the alert did not fire in that window. Usually takes under 30 seconds.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- SummarizeAlertV3Request
  - `hours` integer: Look-back window in hours, 1–168. Defaults to 24.

## Response `200`

- object
  - `status` 'completed' | 'failed': `failed` when the job could not produce its result; see `error` / `errors`.
  - `alert_id` integer
  - `project_id` integer
  - `output` object
    - `headline` string
    - `summary` string
    - `common_themes` string[]
  - `error` string, nullable: Why the job failed, when it did.

## Other responses

- `400`
- `403`: No access to the agent, project, metric or result the job runs on.
- `504`: The job did not finish within 15 minutes. It may still complete in the background.
