# Enable password protection

`POST /settings/password-protection`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1/settings/password-protection`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Enables password protection for your board with the supplied password. The password must be at least eight characters.

## Request body

- SettingsPasswordProtectionBody
  - `password` string, required: Plaintext password used to gate the public board. Must be at least 8 characters. Stored hashed and encrypted server-side.

## Response `200`

Successful response.

## Other responses

- `400`: The password is shorter than the 8-character minimum.
