# Transfer account ownership

`POST /members/transfer-ownership`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1/members/transfer-ownership`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Transfers the primary-owner role to another member. Only the current primary owner may call this. The current owner is demoted to admin and the new owner is promoted.

## Request body

- TransferOwnershipBody
  - `newOwnerUserId` string, required: The user ID of the member who will become the primary owner.

## Response `200`

Ownership transferred.

## Other responses

- `403`: Only the primary owner can transfer ownership.
- `404`: The new owner must already be a member.
- `409`: Cannot transfer ownership to a suspended member.
