# Remove a member

`DELETE /members/{userId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1/members/{userId}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Removes a member from the account. The account owner cannot be removed. Transfer ownership first.

## Path parameters

- `userId` string, required: The user ID of the member.

## Response `200`

The member was removed.

## Other responses

- `404`: Member not found.
- `409`: Cannot remove the account owner.
