# Add a development origin

`POST /development-origins`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.cavuno.com/v1/development-origins`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Registers a local or preview origin for board sign-in, for example from a deploy pipeline as each preview is created. Adding an origin that is already registered returns it with 200.

## Request body

- CreateDevelopmentOriginBody
  - `origin` string, required: Where sign-in may complete while you test a self-hosted frontend: `http://localhost:<port>` (or `127.0.0.1` / `[::1]`), one exact `https://` origin such as a preview deployment, or `https://*.<domain>` under a domain verified on this board. Wildcards on shared hosting suffixes such as `vercel.app` are refused; register each preview URL instead.

## Response `200`

The origin was already registered.

  - `origin` string, required: Normalized origin, or `https://*.<domain>` for a wildcard entry.
  - `kind` 'loopback' | 'https' | 'wildcard', required: `loopback` for localhost addresses, `https` for one exact origin, `wildcard` for one subdomain level under a verified domain.
  - `createdAt` string, required

## Other responses

- `201`: Successful response.
- `400`: The origin was refused (`development_origins_invalid`); the message says why.
- `409`: The board already has the maximum number of development origins (`development_origins_limit_reached`).
