# Delete an evidence attachment no intent has used

`DELETE /evidence-attachments/{attachmentId}`

## Path parameters

- `attachmentId` string, required

## Response `200`

The attachment and its file are removed, and its upload key can start a new upload. One that counted against the staging limit keeps counting until its upload form's window closes

## Other responses

- `404`: Attachment missing, expired or not the authenticated agent's (`evidence_attachment_not_found`)
- `409`: An intent uses the attachment as evidence, so it stays with that intent (`evidence_attachment_bound`)
