# Create a new upload session

`POST /api/v1/upload/create-session`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://backend.caspr.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

Creates a dedicated upload session and returns an ``upload_session_id``.  The frontend must call this **before** connecting to the SSE stream and before submitting the file via ``POST /upload/process``.  This mirrors the ``POST /create-session`` pattern used for chat sessions.
