# Search remote files

`GET /connectors/v1/connections/{id}/search`

## Request

Search the provider's files by name, and by content where the provider supports it. Without a scope, searches everything the connection can see; pass the browse_ref fields of a folder or container to search inside it. Each response states whether its folder scope covers the whole subtree. Returns 422 search_not_supported when the provider has no search, and shares the provider request budget with browsing and background runs.

  - `full_text` boolean: Whether the provider matches file contents, not only names
  - `folder_scope_recursive` boolean: False when a folder scope covers its direct children only

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing query or unsupported scope reference
- `401`: Invalid API key
- `403`: Insufficient permissions or provider_scope_insufficient
- `404`: Connection or folder not found
- `409`: Connection is not healthy (reauth required)
- `422`: search_not_supported or search_scope_not_supported
- `429`: Provider request budget exhausted; Retry-After specifies seconds to wait when known
