# Mark a notification as read

`POST /v1/notifications/{id}/mark_as_read`

Marks a single notification (of the current company, resolved from the
`company-id` header) as read.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Parameters

- `#/paths/~1v1~1users/get/parameters/0` — unresolved $ref

## Response `200`

The updated notification.

- Notification — An in-app notification delivered to a user (backed by the `noticed` gem). Each notification points at a `noticed_event` that carries the payload (`params`) and the `company_id` scoping.
  - `id` string, uuid, required
  - `type` string, nullable — Notification subclass, e.g. `TransactionApprovedNotifier::Notification`.
  - `event_id` string, uuid
  - `recipient_type` string
  - `recipient_id` string — Firebase UID of the recipient user.
  - `read_at` string, date-time, nullable — Timestamp the notification was read; null when unread.
  - `seen_at` string, date-time, nullable
  - `created_at` string, date-time
  - `updated_at` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `401` — Unauthorized
- `404` — Notification not found
