# Delete a company role

`DELETE /v1/companies/{company_id}/company_roles/{id}`

Deletes a custom company role. A role that is still assigned to one or more
memberships cannot be deleted and returns `422`.

## Response `200`

The role was deleted.

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Company or company role not found
- `422`: The role is assigned to one or more memberships and cannot be deleted.
