# Get message statistics comparing you to another user

`GET /v6/messages/statistics/user/{user_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.carbonvoice.app`
- URL: `https://api.carbonvoice.app/v6/messages/statistics/user/{user_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `pxtoken`
  - OAuth 2 (implicit, authorization URL `https://api.carbonvoice.app/oauth/authorize`)

Weekly message counts over the last 12 weeks for the requested user and you, in the conversations you share, split into direct messages and the rest. Successor to `GET /v3/messages/statistics/user/{user_id}`, wrapped in `data` with snake_case fields.

## Path parameters

- `user_id` string, required

## Response `200`

- UserMessageStatisticsV6Response
  - `data` UserMessageStatisticV6[], required: One entry per user (the requested user, then you) who sent a message in a shared conversation during the window; empty when you share no conversation.
    - `user_id` string, required
    - `dm_messages_per_week` number[], required: Messages the user sent in direct messages shared with the other user, one entry per week for the last 12 weeks, oldest first.
    - `non_dm_messages_per_week` number[], required: Messages the user sent in the other shared conversations, one entry per week for the last 12 weeks, oldest first.
