# Send a signed test payload to your webhook

`POST /v1/monitors/{monitor_id}/test`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.captapi.com`
- URL: `https://api.captapi.com/v1/monitors/{monitor_id}/test`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

POSTs a signed monitor.test payload to the monitor's webhook_url so you can check signature verification. delivered is true when your server answered below 400. When the webhook cannot be reached at all (connection refused, DNS, TLS, or no answer within 15 seconds) the call returns 502 WEBHOOK_UNREACHABLE with retryable true. Free.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request: wrong platform URL, unknown endpoint, or an invalid parameter value. Not billed.
- `401`: Missing, invalid or revoked API key. Not billed.
- `404`: The resource does not exist or is not public. Not billed.
- `422`: A required parameter is missing or has the wrong type. Not billed.
- `429`: Rate limit reached. Wait for Retry-After seconds. Not billed.
