# Facebook Event Search API

`GET /v1/facebook/event-search`

## Request

Search Facebook events by topic and city — local startDate/timezone, venue.

Search public Facebook events with a topic query (e.g. comedy) and optional location / from / to / upcoming filters. Each result uses the same Event shape as Event Details and Profile Events — every field present, null when Facebook omits it: startDate/endDate as ISO with the host timezone offset (calendar day matches startTime — evening CDT events do not roll to the next UTC day), IANA timezone (from venue lat/lng when present — never Etc/*), startTime (always includes the year), isPast, eventType (discovery category, e.g. Comedy), visibility (public|private|friends|… from Facebook's *_TYPE), location{name,city,latitude,longitude,countryCode} (all five keys always — null when unknown), description, image, organizers, ticketsUrl, categories, and usersGoing/usersInterested when exposed. Relative labels like "Happening now" are never returned as startTime. Billing: flat 2 credits on a 200. When no events can be read this time the call is a retryable 503 UPSTREAM_UNAVAILABLE at 0 credits. Envelope timings{serpMs,hydrateMs,hydrateAttempts,discoveryMs,totalMs,path} exposes per-stage latency. Set client timeouts ≥130s until typical searches stay under 60s.

      - `timezone` string, nullable: IANA timezone from venue coords or the startTime abbreviation (e.g. America/Chicago for CDT).
      - `startTime` string: Absolute local schedule sentence that always includes the year — never relative labels like Happening now.
      - `duration` string, nullable: Human duration when start/end are known; null otherwise.
      - `durationSeconds` integer, nullable: Length in seconds for this item (full media length, or a segment span when the endpoint documents a start/end).
      - `eventType` string, nullable: Discovery category (e.g. Comedy). Null when unknown — never PUBLIC_TYPE.
      - `isOnline` boolean: Is online. Example: false.
      - `isPast` boolean: Whether the event start is in the past.
      - `isCanceled` boolean: Is canceled. Example: false.
      - `address` string, nullable: Address.
      - `image` string: Image URL.
      - `location` object: Venue block {name, city, latitude, longitude, countryCode} — all five keys always.
        - `name` string, nullable: Name of this events item.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request: wrong platform URL, unknown endpoint, or an invalid parameter value. Not billed.
- `401`: Missing, invalid or revoked API key. Not billed.
- `402`: Not enough credits for this request. Not billed.
- `404`: The resource does not exist or is not public. Not billed.
- `422`: A required parameter is missing or has the wrong type. Not billed.
- `429`: Rate limit reached. Wait for Retry-After seconds. Not billed.
- `502`: The platform could not be reached or returned nothing usable. Retryable, not billed. 503 and 504 use the same envelope.
