# Search purchasable numbers

`GET /api/v1/numbers/available`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.callnode.io`
- URL: `https://api.callnode.io/api/v1/numbers/available`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key` and API key in header `X-Timestamp` and API key in header `X-Signature`

Searches live carrier inventory for numbers you can purchase right now.
Local searches require `areaCode`; toll-free searches accept an optional
`prefix` (800–888) or a `vanity` word. The `pricing` block reflects what
**your** account would pay today — Pro Bundle discounts and included-number
slots are applied automatically.

## Response `200`

Matching inventory plus your current pricing. An empty `numbers` array means no inventory in that area — try another area code or prefix.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed request or failed validation.
- `401`: Missing, unknown, or badly signed credentials — check the HMAC and the timestamp skew.
- `502`: The carrier search is temporarily unavailable (`search_failed`).
