# POST /api/calls/{call_id}/connect

`POST /api/calls/{call_id}/connect`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Ring the user now and patch them into a live call. They join by pressing 1; the caller goes quiet and takes back over when they press * or hang up. Mode "listen" lets them listen in without being heard. Tell the user before calling this.

## Path parameters

- `call_id` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `phone` string: a different number to ring, e.g. "(415) 555-0123"
  - `mode` 'join' | 'listen', required: "join" (default): they take the call over by pressing 1. "listen": they listen in while the caller keeps working, and can press 1 anytime to take over

## Response `200`

Ringing the user
