# Start Mastodon OAuth

`POST /api/v1/channels/connect/mastodon/start`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cadencz.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.cadencz.com/api/v1/channels/connect/mastodon/start`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Registers a Cadencz app on the given Mastodon instance and returns that instance's OAuth approval URL.

## Request body

- MastodonOAuthStartRequest
  - `instance_url` string, required: The Mastodon instance to connect (host or URL).

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- OAuthStartResponse: Returned by any provider's OAuth start endpoint; the frontend redirects the browser to `authorization_url`.
  - `authorization_url` string, required: Provider OAuth approval URL.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid Supabase bearer token.
- `422`: Validation Error
- `502`: The upstream provider rejected the request.
