# Abandon the current checkout session

`DELETE /api/v1/billing/checkout/{attempt_id}`

Record a local overlay close without discarding payment correlation.

Closing the browser overlay does not cancel the external Dodo session: a
payment can still complete afterward. Retain the attempt until a signed
activation consumes it or its local lifetime expires, so that late success
can still be correlated and a different live checkout cannot race it.
