# Send a Locate Action

`POST /v1/default/device/locate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.bymason.com`
- URL: `https://api.bymason.com/v1/default/device/locate`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Sends a Locate Action to a list of devices. A Locate Action tells the device
to report its current location to the platform. Once the device checks in, its
latest location can be fetched via the [Read device location](#operation/get-device-location) endpoint.

## Request body

- ActionRequest
  - `devices` string[]: List of device ids to send an Action to

## Response `204`

No content

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `404`: Resource(s) not found
- `500`: Internal server error
