# Update payment limit

`PUT /governance/v1/limits/{limitId}`

Updates an existing payment limit. You can modify the payment method, limit type, and amount.

## Path parameters

- `limitId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- UpdatePaymentLimitRequest
  - `method` 'SEPA' | 'SEPA_INSTANT' | 'SWIFT' | 'FASTER_PAYMENT' | 'ACH' | 'FEDWIRE' | 'FEDNOW' | 'RTP': The updated payment method.
  - `limitType` 'TRANSACTION' | 'DAILY': The updated limit type.
  - `amount` string: The updated limit amount in major currency units.

## Response `200`

Payment limit updated successfully

  - `id` string, uuid: The unique identifier of the created payment limit.
  - `createdAt` string, date-time: The timestamp when the payment limit was created.
  - `updatedAt` string, date-time: The timestamp when the payment limit was last updated.
