# Suggest street addresses

`POST /api/v1/addresses/suggest`

## Request

Proxies Mapbox Search Box `suggest` so first-party clients (including the Chrome extension) never embed a Mapbox token. Anonymous callers are allowed. Developer API keys with `site:read` are accepted. Suggestions have no coordinates; resolve a chosen `mapbox_id` with `POST /api/v1/addresses/retrieve` using the same `sessionToken`. Canada-first (`country` defaults to `ca,us`), `types=address`, limit 5. Uses the `PUBLIC_READ` route bucket behind the `PUBLIC_API` middleware backstop so typing does not spend the `LOCATION` lookup budget.

## Response `200`

Successful response.

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation or client error.
- `401`: Authentication required.
- `403`: Insufficient permissions.
- `404`: No such resource, or no such route under this version prefix.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded (`code: RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED`, `retryable: true`). Honour `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
